Hello Everyone
My name is Grahame James and I am new to this site and have been trying to find some military History on my ancestor George Jaffray.
George Jaffray was Born about 1835/37 in Aberdeen Scotland from the age of 8yrs to 15yrs he was engaged on a farm.
He served in the ranks of the Imperial Army. He then spent Nine Months Crimean War.
After which Ten Months in the East Indies Police Brigade.
He followed a seafaring life for 12yrs before landing in sydney in 1864.
I would like some Military History on him but found this quite difficult as I do not know what ranks he held in these Wars.
If any one can help me I would be most grateful.
