The 95th [Derbyshire] Regiment of Foot were at Alma, Inkerman & Sevastopol. Although the site is still under construction see The Land Forces of Great Britain, the Empire and Commonwealth web site at ,the Regiments page with links to history, battles etc is at .

The regiment became part of The Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment) whose museum has a web site at , where you will find more details of the Battle of Alma, including some drawings of the uniform of the time. They may well assist with enquiries about your ancestor. [a small donation usually helps]
