Dear Crim researchers,
There are some possibly relevant entries from the 1880 census (LDS CDs at library):
Your Charles may have been living in the household of Mary Steeves, perhaps with some of his siblings.

ACCOUNT BOOK OF GABRIEL WAGNER, BLACKSMITH
1866-1878
Submitted by Mrs. Laura M. Wagner, Route three, Carrollton, Ohio 44615
Gabriel Wagner, blacksmith, was born in Union Township, Carroll
County, Ohio, in 1842, the son of Henry and Susanna (Abel) Wagner. He was a
Democrat, a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and died in 1921 in Perry
Township. Mr. Wagner married Barbara Heidy, the daughter of John and Nancy
(Koontz/Kuntz) Heidy. Besides smithing, he was a farmer and kept bees.
These men for whom he did blacksmith work were from Lee, Union, Perry, and
Loudoun Townships in Carroll County. Mr. Wagner's recipe for tempering iron:
One gallon fish oil or frish oil
Two pounds taller (tallow)
One pound beeswax.
Crim, Jacob
Crim, William
A website indicates that William and Jacob were brothers, and children of Charles Crim and Christina Abel; the name Charles therefore may have been carried down in the family:
see http://karlk.terrashare.com/pafg195.htmhttp://karlk.terrashare.com/pafg195.htm for this and related information
"Charles Crim was born in 1790 in , Virginia. He married Christina Abel.
Christina Abel [Parents] was born on 12 Dec 1795 in , Loudoun Co., Virginia and was christened on 28 Mar 1796 in , Loudoun Co., Virginia. She died in 1878 and was buried in , Carroll Co., Ohio. She was sealed to her parents on 30 Jul 1974. Christina was baptized on 14 Jun 1974. She was endowed on 25 Jul 1974. Christina married Charles Crim.
They had the following children:
M i John Crim was born in 1826 in , Ohio.
M ii George Crim was born in 1831 in , Ohio.
F iii Mary A. Crim was born in 1832 in , Ohio.
M iv Jacob Crim was born in 1836 in , Ohio.
M v William Crim was born in 1837 in , Ohio."
If the children living with Mary Steeves were not Jacob's (as suggested by Eva and Charles being the same age), then they might have been any of these brothers. And, one record indicates William as also living in the county.Perhaps someone else could help firm of these possibilities.;-)
The 1910 Miracode index (from Ancestry.Com) for Carroll County OH shows your Charles W. Crim, along with George (apparently his older brother), and John Donaldson (his father-in-law).My money says that the Mattie Crim is Martha Crim (Charles' older sister), and that the coding erroneously indicates her as a "husband"/living alone, but this is pure speculation.

For completeness in this general time period, I also indicate that another person (possibly a spouse?), was seen in the following record,

CRIM, SARAH
County Name: CARROLL
Date of Death: 2/6/1917

Certificate Number: 8253
Some interesting connections among these various tidbits, which are just odd entries I have collected.I hope this information is useful, and ties into yours.
