Linda,

This is interesting. I have no knowledge of any children that Elizabeth might have had with her second husband but she was certainly young enough to have had more children after her first husband's untimely death.

The Crow connection fits with the Crigler's and Yowell's as they were also Germanna Colony II descendants.

This is a question that should be taken up on the Germanna mail list. There are Crow descendants who subscribe. What I do know about Elizabeth is:

2. Christopher Crigler, b. about 1721, Germanna, Spotsylvania Co. VA and d. September 9, 1808 in Criglersville, Madison Co. VA. He married Catherine Finks in 1750. She was the daughter of Mark Finks and Elizabeth ?, later immigrants to Germanna. Catherine's sister, Elizabeth, married Mathias Weaver, grandson of Susanna Clore.
Issue:
6. Maria [Utz], b. September 9, 1751
7. Reubin, b. January 28, 1753
8. Jacob, b. June 27, 1756
9. Elizabeth [Yowell Taylor], b. July 7, 1759
10. Susanna [Hume], b. January 3, 1762
11. Lewis (Ludwig), b. October 1, 1764
12. John, b. June 10, 1767
13. Christopher, b. November 28, 1769
14. Anna [Hume], b. July 6, 1771
15. James, b. May 23, 1775
16. William, b. June, 1778

The names of the above children and their births are recorded in the Hebron Lutheran Church at Madison VA.

Christopher's will is recorded at Culpeper VA, May 30, 1809, in Will Book F, page 119 and reads as follows;

'In the name of God, Amen, I Christopher Crigler of the County of Culpeper, a citizen of the United States do make, ordain and declare this is my instrument which is written and every page thereof subscribed with my name, to be my last will and testament, revoking all others.

All debts of which there are few and none of magnitude are to be paid promptly, and my will carried out. I bequeth to my daughter Elizabeth Taylor one hundred acres of land, corner to John Finks. I have no money to pay for her being security for her administration of estate of David Yowell, deceased. If I have any money to pay on account it must come out of this I leave her and her daughters.

9. Elizabeth Crigler
b. July 7, 1759, Culpeper Co. VA. She married first David Yowell, Jr. He died in 1793 (Madison Co. VA Will Book 1, p.22) and was the son of David Yowell. David, Jr. was deeded land with his brother James by James Yowell, son of James. (50 a., 8/14/1777, Deed Book H, pg. 565). James Yowell deeded a negro to his brother David (Deed Book I, pg. 125).
