I am undertaking a One Name Study on the CRIDLAND family and have traced several branches to Australia. Unfortunately, your information that there is a royal connection and that the family is descended from someone called Krid is unfounded. A CRIDLAND did serve in the Royalist forces in the English Civil War and was subsequently awarded a coat of arms, but his branch died out soon afterwards and no living CRIDLAND is allowed to use these arms.

For further information you can contact me on geoff@wellington98.freeserve.co.uk.

Regards

Geoff
