I can't help with Ellen, I'm afraid, but I do have a Cridland connection with Old Cleeve.
Francis Cridland was born there in 1783 and married Mary Wick there 5 Jan 1808. I've got rather stuck because there were two Francis Cridlands living in Old Cleeve at the same time. Any connection with your tree?
