Pamela,

While I didn't mean to confuse, I found the variations of names in my family depending mostly on which part of the country they went to. (Bad Grammar)

As you can imagine, if a German wrote a name one way, if your ancestors went to an Irish area, it could have been spelled differently as it wasn't as important way back then.

I was just hoping to help with possibilities for you and I and others.

Crowder was the name of my gg-grandmother and yet some of the family spelled it Crider. Much like my Obermayer first ancestors came to this county, it was changed to Overmyer for my grandmother, but many of her siblings spelled it all differently.
