Once before I wrote you under the name of Betty, and there was no reply. Now I have found so many of my family, I am trying to help and could use yours too. Our names are NOT spelled the same, but it is the same family. Over the many years I have been researching, I found many soundex variations of our surnames.
Should you not care to believe me, it is your choice, but then both of us will lose in the end.
As many of our names are of the same families, let me share briefly here.
Crider is the first as that is the variation of my G-grandmother Crowder. I have lineage back to England to early 1600's. My Crowder/Crider family went to VA and both north and South. I found my g-grandmother's family from the Carolina's too.
Burgess being the middle name of my William Burgess Woolley/Willey/Wally/Wharton/Wooley/Waddle/Wade/Ward/Ware/etc so many others too. That name got changed just as many others of mine did too.
Your Doss is probably my Dorsey/D'Arce/D'Arcy/Dorsett/Darcy/Dumas/Darcus/Danby/Doss/Durr/etc many more.
I haven't connected to my Cheeks , but know I have Preston too.
You have Vesta May Smith m Cheek. My Mary Elizabeth Smith married a Dorsey (see other variations above) It is said William C Smith/Schimdt was the father of my Mary.
I am told I am related to Childs, Baker (one of my Grandmother's other husbands), Bramlett/Bramble/Bramel/Brammel/Barnum, Hunt, Duncan, Langley, Phillips, one of my Woolley's m Adda Thomas, and Vaughn.
