I am looking for info on descendants of George Crider of Cherokee Co. GA
Here is what I have:
George Crider was probably the son of Jacob Crider, and was born about 1789 in Cabarrus Co. NC. He married Caty Minster in Cabbarrus Co. NC 10 Nov 1813. She apparently died. He married Elizabeth Strube (daughter of John and Nancy Strube) 23 July 1824. On 20 July 1819 George sold 130 acres of land to Thomas Cooper (who apparently married Polly Mary Crider on 26 Oct 1815. This Thomas Cooper was raised in the household of William and Barbara Crider Glover.) The sale was witnessed by Peter Walter who was likely George’s nephew.
George and Elizabeth show up in the 1850 census of Cherokee Co. GA with the following children:
Monty, born abt 1827 in NC
James, born abt 1829 in NC
Elizabeth, born abt 1832 in GA
Sophia, born abt 1835 in GA
Elisha, born abt 1838 in GA
Samuel, born abt 1840 in GA
Emily, born abt 1843 in GA
Adeline, born abt 1845 in GA
I am descended from George’s (probable) brother, Daniel Crider, Sr. We have quite a bit of history on Daniel and his descendants, but almost nothing on his probable siblings: Jacob Jr., Barbara, David, George, and Polly Mary.
