My line of descent is James Crider (1799-1880) m. Meeky Owens (1809-1870) > James Knox Polk Crider m. Sarah Tackitt > Joseph Edwin Crider m. Lucille Annie Murray > Opal Jewel Crider m. Edgar M. Griswold.
My great-grandfather, James Knox Polk Crider, was born January 17, 1845, in Gasconade County, Missouri, and died, April 01, 1903, Woolam, Osage County, Missouri. A veteran of the Civil War, he married Sarah Tackitt on February 07, 1866. Sarah was born May 1847, Gasconade County, Missouri, and died, July 29, 1919, in Rosebud, Gasconade County, Missouri. James K.P. Crider and Sarah Tackitt had 12 children, one of which was my grandfather, Joseph Edwin Crider.
Joseph Edwin Crider was born May 10, 1886, in Osage County, Missouri, and died, November 29, 1961, Crawford County, Missouri. Joseph married Lucille Annie Murray on December 10, 1918, in Overland, Saint Louis County, Missouri. Both Joseph and Lucille (Murray) Crider are buried in Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Crawford County, Missouri.
Joseph Crider and Lucille Murray had 11 children. Their 4th child was my mother, Opal Jewel Crider, born January 15, 1927, in Saint Louis, Saint Louis County, Missouri, and died, December 27, 1990, Citrus Heights, Sacramento County, California.
Researching my mother's side of the family has been difficult. I am looking to exchange information relating to both the ancestors and descendants of James Crider and Meeky Owens, although most of what I have is from Internet sources.
In addition, I’ve heard there is a book on the Crider family. Can anyone tell me how to obtain a copy of the latest edition?
