Michael,
I have not been in the Crews site for some time. My search into this family is an effort to find someone connected to the John Enoch Taylor family.
My reference to the Willis Crews marriage to Amanda Taylor is very vague, haven't even found proof of the marriage. What I have supposedly came from a family Bible but that person has not provided me with the proof.
In the 1850 Coweta Co., GA census there are two Screws listed. I don't know if there is a relationship in the Screws and Crews. I think someone has said that Screws came from a butchered spelling of a German name.
The only other Crews I have in my files is Anna Nancy Crews, daughter of Joseph and Agnes Crews, married James Franklin 12-15-1776 in Ameherst Co., VA. They had a son, James R. Franklin, born in Amherst Co. No other information on them as they are not a direct line.
Without going back and digging in my paper files, I cannot recall when Heard Co. was formed out of Coweta Co. This could have put your family in Coweta census records before the separation.
Sorry that I'm a dead end.
Jane
