James, have you read the 1850 Census for the southside Virginia counties? Then the 1840 and 1820 Censuses?
Southwark Parish, Surry Co., Virginia, had a Thomas Crews who
was settled there by 1658 and the records are pretty good for
this family for three generations. They left good Wills and
the "homeplace of 80 acres" is mentioned in the 3 generations
of Wills.
Have you studied the Hinshaw, Encyl. of American Quakers Volume 6 for Virginia? These are the Quaker Crews families
living along the James River in Virginia?
