I have a William s/o John "Sadler" Crews/Peggy Thompson, who married an Elizabeth. She must have died for John married a second time: Polly C. Craddock. John "Sadler" and Eliz or Polly show sons by name of Josiah and Joseph. Maybe these children were named after brothers of John "Sadler". Was marriage between cousins common at that time?

Questions: What does "Surety. 2-10-1801" mean?
