Thank you for a very speedy response. I do have a copy of Bell's book, but have a couple concerns with it re: Ursula's family. The quote on page 449 that begins "the first dark cloud"-------"who died early in January, 1833, at the home of his parents". This suggests to me that his father, John, also lived in St Joseph Co. The other information I have found re: John's death I believe indicates he died in Warren Co., no state. Could it have been Indiana?
