I have his parents listed as James and Ann Crew. The only references I have found for them is:

"Thomas Bell" by Rufie Lee Williams. James m. Ann Crew [1281] in CCC, Va. They were second cousins. Moved to Northampton Co., NC in 1783. She moved to Ohio with sons after his death.

James Crew b. Apr 25, 1750
m. Ann Crew on Sep 7, 1773
Children: Elisha, Jacob, Isaac, Henry
