I am taking a long stab because my information is so scanty.
There must have been somebody Cresswell who emigrated to New Zealand in the mid-1800s. I do not know who, or when, but I do know that they settled in the Napier/Clive area of Hawkes Bay, New Zealand and a daughter, Elizabeth married my husband's grandfather, John Oemcke. Elizabeth would have been born around 1894.
