Does anyone have any information regarding siblings of Israel Cressman? I am trying to determine if the George & Elizabeth Cressman mentioned below are the same as Israel's parents.
In a petition for guardianship of Maria & Wilson Bilger (1874 MontCo Orphans Court) their parents are named as Samuel Bilger & Hannah Cressman. The father "eloped" with another woman & the mother was an inmate of the Insane Dept of the MontCo Alms House. The petition was made by their grandmother Elizabeth Cressman. In the petition it mentions that they are named in their grandfather's will: George Cressman died "about 1870."
The dates I have for George & Elizabeth are from the census, but come close to those for Israel's parents. However, the 1860 census for the George & Elizabeth I'm looking at includes the following - assumed to be their children:
Abner
Maria
Elizabeth
George (his new wife, Barbara & their child Elizabeth)
However, the ages recorded would mean that these "children" were born 1838-1847.
