Hi Howard - I added what I have after some family reunions, cemetery searches and misc:
Henry Sr's Oath of Allegiance 1844 said he was from Hessecastle Germany. I dont know if he and Elizabeth wed in Germany or PA. The family moved from PA to Missouri abt 1865/66
The 10 children I have recorded are:
John Cress b.1837/38 (per est from census) wed Susan
Nicholas 1838-1917 wed Susie then Maggie
Henry Cress (Jr) 1844-1898 (shot in Colorado) wed Margaret Long (my line)
Elizabeth 4/1845-1919 wed Casper Foos d.1919
William 1847/48 est from census. d. 1882 wed Susan
Milton 4/1848-1825 wed Katie then Louise
Catherine 4/1852-6/1894 wed Mullinex
Jacob 3/1853-7/1891 wed Margaret
Mary 4/1856-4/1914 wed Jones
Daniel 3/1856-3/1914 wed Elizabeth

I also heard from a fellow who believes all the Riefler and Reifler are related and there are not many of them. And an entry into the book "History of Beaver Co." has a piece written by one of Henry's sons using the spelling "Reifer".
