My ancestor John shows up in the 1850 census in Greenwood Twp., Juniata Co., PA. He is listed as John Krebs, however variant spellings of this family in different documents are: Kreps, Crebs, Crep, Grapes, Grapis. Recent generations of our family spell it Krape.

In earlier Census records, Juniata County is part of Mifflin Co.

Other people in this area of PA found in the early 1800's with the Creps surname are Henry, George and an older John.

My John's wife was Mary Catharine, (ca. 1805). His children were: Susannah (ca. 1834); Lucias (ca. 1836), my ancestor, who married Matilda Souluff (ca. 1832); Amos (ca. 1841); and Precilla (ca. 1844) who married William Yerasen.

Lucias/Louis (ca. 1836) married Matilda Souluff (ca. 1832). Their children were: Reuben (19 Dec 1856), my ancestor, who married Clara S. Eoute (Feb 1862), lived in Green Twp., Clinton Co., PA; John (Oct 1859) married Carrie (Feb 1961); Mary (ca. 1864); and Annie (ca. 1870).

If you recognize this family, please respond to this message or my email address.
