Mary is known to have lived in Baltimore until 1841 and was associated with the Ray family...Alexander, Charles and Gorge with the first two thought to be her brothers and the latter to be her father. Young John was a mid-shipman and was drowned in an accident off the coast of Chile while serving on board the Franklin. A younger brother of Oliver Hazard Perry was also drowned in this accident. No marriage of Mary to either Cremer or Bodine has ever been located.
