I am James Adolphus Owens' eldest daughter and would like to respond to your post. "Owens was a retired USAF guy and the research was a hobby. His wife apparently didn't care for this and when he died she trashed his project." While his research was indeed a hobby, my father was not "a retired USAF guy". I'm not sure where you got your information but my mother did NOT "trash his project" when he died. In fact, she donated his research to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City so it would be available to anyone who requested it. We, as Mr. Owens' family, are working to make copies of "Anywhere I Wander" available in the near future. When this happens , I will post a message in this forum. "It is interesting reading although some say it is some fact and some fiction. Owens miss spelled my father's name and a cousin the same as it was miss spelled in another book. No one knows which author copied the other's work." Please remember that my father's research was done at least two decades before the invention of the World Wide Web. The fiction you speak of is more likely folklore, stories passed down through the families. Also, my father may have copied down the spelling of names and other information from various sources, but I can assure you that he did not "copy" someone elses work. Lorena S.
