Dear Patricia,
Nyla is wonderful and has done more for Creed family research than anyone else I know.
Mumford Smith's will doesn't indicate any direct connection with my Rebecca except that he signed several documents concerning the Creeds.
The Creeds were all over Surry Co.,North Carolina. For a time the Moore's boys were also in Surry Co., NC with their parents--Rodham MOORE (1744 VA-1811 Surry Co., NC) and his wife Elizabeth Gallahue (b. abt 1752 VA-d.1825 Hawkins Co., TN).After their father's, Rodham Moore, death their mother, Elizabeth Gallahue, went to live with her sons in Hawkins Co., TN until her death. I have a lot on the Gallahue & Moore family because the Moore family has a very active genealogical group.
I have 2 direct line JONES families one only in Wales (married into my SHEEN family that came to America) and the other was Wm JONES (b. abt 1700/1710 Wales-d.bef 1755 Rowan Co.,NC) & wife Jane (LANE) JONES' daughter Jane JONES (b. 1738 NC-d.1842 KY) who md my James LEE and 2ns md Closs Thompson.I don't have a Surry Co., NC JONES or FULTON connection that I know of.But you've given me a lot to think about. When I get a moment I will try and get into it and see what I can find.
