My records on this family are quite incomplete and have come from a variety of sources. The ancestor of this branch of the Creeds seems to be Cornelius Creed who is found in the 1790 Cumberland Co NC census and the 1800 and 1810 Onslow Co NC census.A William Creed is found in a deed record 1821 Onslow Co NC and it is believed that he is the son of Cornelius. It is believed that this William was the husband of Bersheba ___? and that he moved from Onslow Co NC in the 1820s then to someplace in Alabama in the 1830s and then to Kemper Co MS about 1838.
From various records it is believed that William and Bersheba had the following children:
1. Mary b c1825
2. Cornelius "Neal" b 1826-27 SC
3. Henry J "Jack" b c1828 , pvt CoA, 35 MS
4. Henrietta J. E./Juno? b c1835
5. Ellen b c1837
6. W. LaFayette B. b c 1839
7. Thomas M b c1842, Co A 35 MS pvt (POW)
8. Alma Malinda b c1844
9. Joseph M b c1846 d 1927 Brazos Co TX
10. Susan b c1850
I would enjoy hearing your comments on the above.
