Early Obituaries, transcribed from the Lower East Newsletter, Vol. 2, Pg. 5, March 1989
"In Columbus County (North Carolina), on the 18th ult. (18 August 1848), Joshua Creach, Sr., aged about 60 years. Mr. Creach was a pious member of the Baptist Church for the last 30 years. He formerly resided in Duplin County (North Carolina) but had lived in Columbus County for the last 12 years."
