Hello everyone,

I am in search of any information that I may be able to obtain on my Great-grandmother. Her name was Rose Deshane (my grandmother was positive of the spelling so this is what I will go with) and I was told that she was a Cree Indian possibly from the Quetico Superior area in Quebec, Canada. She was born Oct. 21, 1882, either in Belgium or Schenectady, NY. She married a man by the name of Henry "Hank" VAN OOTEGHEM. Her parents were Noel "John" Deshane (possibly Lowell Deshane) born about 1851 and Eliza Walsh Dupree born about 1853. Noel was possibly born in Schenectady, NY or Quebec, Canada and Eliza was born either in Ontario, Canada or Quebec, Canada. The spelling of the last name DESHANE was told to me by my grandmother but according to Rose's marriage certificate it shows the name as being spelled DUCHAINE. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
