The Bixby Genealogy by Willard G. Bixby, published 1914 in 3 volumes. There were to be more, but unfortunately they were never published. He spent years gathering data from all branches of the family on the Bixbys and their descendants. Mildred's great-grandmother was Jemima Bixby. I am working on continuing the Bixby lines from where the genealogy stopped. The information in my message was from the genealogy. It also states that his health was undermined by the British West African climate. Mildred was born 8/6/1881 in Cleveland, OH. She remarried in 1911, Daniel Sprague Hamilton.
Was she the wife of your Capt.? If so, can you give me his birth, death and marriage dates & places, please. That's all that I really need. The conflicting dates in the genealogy need to be straightened out.
