Mary,

To be honest, I knew several of my peers who bore the O'Connor name but I knew very little about their families.

If you knew where your relatives lived( different sections of the city) that might help to determine whether I might have known them or their relatives.

O'Connor was a popular name in Holyoke which was known for its large Irish population.

Doing this research, I found that my great grandfather's sister, Mary O'Connor married an O'Connor from County Kerry. His name was Patrick Jerome O'Connor. His parents were John J. O'Connor and Mary Courtney.

My immediate O'Connor family( other than Mary) did not originally settle in Holyoke...they were mostly from Wilbraham which was also a popular settling place for the Irish coming to America. It was only after my parents met in the 40's that my immediate line settled in Holyoke. My Donoghue and McKenna lines were there in Holyoke much earlier than my O'Connor family.

Ironically,my great grandfather Patrick O'Connor also married an O'Connor( County Cork family).
