My great great grandmother, Eliza Ann Lovenia Creamer (b. July 21, 1837, GA d. September 23, 1877, Bosque Co., TX and married Cornelius A. Russell on May 30, 1855, Williamson Co., TX) was the oldest known child of Elias Creamer (b. between 1813 & 1815 SC), son of James Creamer and Mary McFarland. Her husband, Cornelius, was a Baptist minister and the birth, death, and marriage information, along with her father's name, was taken from his Bible. On September 19, 1839, there was an Elisha (? probably Elias) Creamer who married an Amanda S. Jenkins in Cass/Bartow County, Georgia, and still later this same individual seems to appear on the 1850 census of Gordon County, Georgia, with a third wife: Elias Creamer--35--M--Farmer--SC Mary--35--F--GA Eliza A.--12--F--GA Amanda K.--9--F--GA Mary J.--6--F--GA It would appear, therefore, that Elias Creamer may well have had three wives and three daughters through each. In either case, Elias seems to have migrated from Georgia to Williamson County, Texas, but was living in Lampasas County by 1859. During 1859, Elias Creamer, along with my great great grandfather, Cornelius A. Russell, and his brother, Daniel W. Russell, served together in 2nd Sergeant H.W. McCaleb's No. 6 Scout of the Lampasas Guards. And, in 1860, Elias was listed on the 1860 census of Lampasas County. Elias, as all of those of you who trace back to him know, died after 1880 and is buried in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in Williamson County. I do not know what became of Amanda K. Creamer but my great great grandmother is buried next to her husband, Cornelius, in the old Tom Pool/Poole Cemetery in Bosque County. And it is interesting to note that she named her oldest child Amanda. FWW Notify Administrator about this message?
