Julie, I've not gotten as far back in my research as some of the other Creamer posters, but I do know that my gr-grandmother Alice N. Creamer m. John B. Heeter in 1882 (they lived in DC). They were both born in Montgomery Co., MD. When I was in Niagara Falls, NY, a few years back, I purchased a book about surnames in Ireland. The book states the name 'creamer' is Irish, of English extraction. If I can remember correctly, I think it means 'peddler.'
