Donna,

I know that you posted this some 8 years ago, but I know of John Cray.

Some 15 years ago I was helping my aunt, who is a Cray by marriage (my uncle Arthur has been dead since the 70s) move things around in her attic. In my uncle's possessions I found John Cray's boatswain's whistle, sailor's cap and a letter of commendation for valor in action during the bombardment of Charleston SC in 1863. I do not know much else about John.

Hope this helps you.

Jim
