LOCAL NEWS (CON'T):
MR. and MRS. P.O. BUSSELLE of Omaha visited their relatives and numerous friends in Chariton last Saturday while on their way to Milo where they had been called by the serious illness of her father, G.W. BURGESS. MR. BUSSELLE is still the wide awake hustler for the International Harvester Company at Omaha.
C.R. CARPENTER started Saturday evening on a twenty days' trip through Texas and the southwest and may locate in that section of the country if he finds a locality he likes better than Chariton, which is not probable.
MRS. A.E. WILSON and son RILEY left last Friday for Arkansas City, Kas., called there by the serious accident which befell their son and brother, CHAS. WILSON, an account of which appears in another column.
MRS. A.E. WHITTEN and family left last night on No. 13 for Greeley, Col, where they will join MR. WHITTEN and make their future home. -- Creston Gazette.
MR. and MRS. WHITTEN were former residents of Cedar Township. MRS. WHITTEN was formerly MISS ELLA SELLERS.
CHAS. LOTT of Lacona visited in this city Thursday evening with his son ELMER and family while on his way home from a visit in Murray with his nephew whom he had not seen for twenty years.
The MISSES EMMA and JESSIE ANDREW left Friday night for Chicago where the former will visit relatives and the latter will enter the wholesale millinary houses to learn the latest styles.
Rev. M.S. CLARK closed a very successful meeting at Cleveland No. 4 on last Thursday evening. There were eleven conversions. A Young People's Union was organized and it is hoped will accomplish much good.
WILL CRAWLEY and family left Tuesday for Guthrie County where they expect to reside in the future. The best wishes of a host of friends go with them to their new home.
GEO. FANTZ and son HOLLIS of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of this city, made a brief visit last week with their old friends here while on their way home from Lacona.
Attorney A.K. ATEN went to Garden Grove Saturday to spend a few days visiting his mother and transacting business.
