I believe that the William Crawford who married Mary Douglas was the ancestor of a different line of American Crawfords--that he and Mary were the parents of Alexander Crawford, who married Mary McPheeters and was killed by Indians in the Blue Ridge. At one time I thought that this was my line, but when I wrote to the author of a book about this line, she referred me to someone who was working on the line I was interested in. It was through that person that I got on track to discover Robert and his five sons. To return to them, Robert's son William married Violet ____, possibly Fulks. I'm not 100% sure of the title of that book now, but I remember that it had a rather straightforward title like Descendants of Alexander Crawford and Mary McPheeters.
