I have CRAWFORD connections to Bonhill, Dunbartonshire starting with JAMES CRAWFORD who was born 19 Mar 1835 in Sherdrim, Glassary, Argyllshire, and died 08 Jul 1890 on the Paddle Steamer 'Viceroy'. He married ELIZABETH DAVIDSON 14 Jun 1861 in Bonhill, Dunbartonshire, daughter of THOMAS DAVIDSON and ELIZABETH BISLAND. She was born 19 Aug 1838 in Kilmaronock, Dunbartonshire, and died 16 Jan 1894 in Old Women's Home, Glasgow.

Children of JAMES CRAWFORD and ELIZABETH DAVIDSON are:

THOMAS DAVIDSON CRAWFORD, b. 18 Aug 1868, Bonhill, Dunbartonshire; d. 09 Sep 1874, Bonhill, Dunbartonshire.
Burial: Aft. 09 Sep 1874, Bonhill Churchyard, Bonhill, Dunbartonshire.

JAMES CRAWFORD, b. 27 Jun 1873, Main Street, Bonhill, Dunbartonshire; d. 06 Feb 1943, 44 Cairnfield Place, Aberdeen.

James, the final child, was my paternal Grandfather.

If anyone in Bonhill is handy with a digital camera and wouldn't mind braving the elements sometime, could they scour the graveyard for photographs of the grave/graves for the children ... and any other connected CRAWFORD family ... and contact me again. I'll pass on an 'address' then for e-mailing them to me.

I have great faith in the Genforums having had success with them from as far afield as Canada so my fingers are getting crossed yet again.

Regards
