I've been trying for some time now to find out what happened to my late father's brother ... my Uncle James Crawford, born Clydebank in 1904.
He spent his working life in Colombo, Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) and married a widow called Edith who, I believe, already had two daughters before she married him.
An elderly Aunt (his sister-in-law, who is now in her mid-90's) and her daughter think he returned to the UK and lived and died somewhere in England.
Someone out there MUST know something about him.
Please, please contact me if you know ANYTHING about him.
