I thought I would try to help so I looked for Crawfords in Buchanan Co. MO and I found David and Bertie (spelling on census) in St. Joseph, Buchanan, MO in the 1920 Census Family #275
He is 65 and she is 25. They have one son, Thomas L age 3yrs 7 mos.
Also living with them are John Shaman 39, who shows as brother-in-law.
So he probably is brother to Bertie--which gives you a name to look for. Not sure the spelling is correct on sur name--it could be Shannon or Sherman--so if you can't find one try another. 1990 would probably be a good place to look since Bertie would be about 5 years old then.
