My father-in-law, William Craw, has very recently died aged 91. He had traced his family history back in great detail. On this tree there is a Patrick Auchencraw, born 1520, died 1593, who married Elizabeth Auchencraw. This family tree identifies Patrick's father as George Auchencraw of East Reston, born circa 1475. George was sherrif of Berwickshire.
On another branch of the tree there is a Patrick Auchencraw, born circa 1495, identified as Burgess of Dunbar. He is the father of Elizabeth Auchencraw who married the above Patrick Auchencraw, her dates are given as circa 1528-1592.
My father-in-law corresponded with several people in building his family tree over many years. You may already be aware of him?
Kind regards
Peter Wood
