Wavelyn,

My G-Grandfather was William Craver, he was born in Davidson County NC in 1821 to John Craver and Mary Todd. They moved to Putnam County Indiana about 1830. John and Mary (Todd)Craver had the following children:
Alexander-b.1814
William-b.1821
John-b.1823
Phebe-b.1826
Elizabeth-b.1830
Mary-b.1832
Catherine-b.1834
Andrew-b.1836
Nelson-b.1840
Elmina-b.1845

About 1850 the John Craver family moved to Mason Township in Effingham County. I think that most of the children moved with them but I am not sure. John Craver died in Effingham County in 1872 and his wife Mary died in Effingham County in 1871. William moved on to Kansas but I think Alexander stayed in Effingham and I'm not sure who else did. I would try the Effingham County USGENWEB site , they have a very good lookup section. See if there are some census records from that period that Homer might show up on.
