Just wanted to say that I got very lucky. With your input, and all the info that everyone has posted so generously, I was able to go back to Abner Cranford (1809-1888)/Rebecca Ann WEDGEWORTH-Cranford (1813-1900) >their daughter, Nancy Emily Cranford (1841-1876)and her first unknown husband > to the son that would share her own Cranford name> Newton (Middleton or Jasper) Cranford (1865-1908)/Nancy S. MYERS-Cranford (1867-1955) to their son, John William Cranford(1891-1957)/Lillie "Lillian" Belle SELF-Cranford and their son is O.J. Cranford. (His initials O.J. varies from being Opel Jewel to Opal Jule) Anyway, O.J.Cranford (1923-1995)/Doris N. DAWSON-Cranford (ca 1922-1960)...on down to immediate family. Which I will not post for privacy, but I don't mind sharing that this is my granddaughter's line on her maternal side..and not from my Mainord/Malone side.
It is amazing what the world of internet can do...especially thinking back to how long it took me to find my own G-grandparents back in 1970's when I just had libraries/cemeteries/ and lots of correspondence by snail mail!!
I freely admit that the above is taken from others that have posted family history..and all of it seem to be in agreement. And I am THANKFUL for all their time and research and sharing.I do understand the headaches and eyestrain and time involved and welcome them or anyone toto post any corrections or to add more info.
