Hi Tim ,
I came across your posting w/link to article about marriage of John Henry Cranford. Then saw photo's & documents about Minerva Cranford Childress & became interested in reading about her as my great-grandfather, Alfred Harris Cranford, also had a sister named Minerva Cranford. They lived in Randolph Co., NC. I've read that John Calvin Cranford, Minerva's father, had a brother Elias. My grt-grt-grt-grt-grandfather was also named Elias Cranford - not sure if he could be the same one or another relative. I have these dates for Elias: b. 1767 d. 1843, his wife's name was Nelly, maiden name unknown. Not sure, but suspect we have some of these ancestors in common.I hope to figure it all out one day. Anyway, just wanted to say I thoroughly enjoyed the information, especially the photo of Minerva - what a long & historic life - looks like she was nearly 100 yrs. old. I think I'd look a bit like her if I live that long - sadly, I think we inherited the same nose!
