Dear Bonnie,
My name is Albert Earl Crandall (my father spelled his last name Crandell). My grandfather's name was James H. Crandell. I remember I had an "Uncle Norbert" who had two sons one was named Norbert and I can't recall the other son's name. Both sons were in the military and I believe one graduated from West Point and the other from the Naval Academy. I have a sister named Jacqueline. I too have had trouble getting past the Crandell/Howes who I believe were my great-grandparents. I will check back in my records and see if I can find any more that may be helpful.
