Hi Herb!
Well, since posting my message I have managed to discover my fiance's Crandell line, so am going to stick with my plan to get subscribers on the Crandell mailing list. I had figured there was a typo in his sparse genealogy, but as it turns out, the family name was indeed, Crandell. His line goes up as follows:
Amelia Bertha Crandell, md Charles Egustus Nichols
Austin Elmer Crandell, md Diana Israel
James Gordon Crandell, md Harriet Elizabeth Phinn
Jeremiah Crandell, md Laura Brintnell
Palmer Crandell, md Deborah Palmer (b: 1772 in New York, died in Ontario, Canada)
The majority of his Crandell's ended up in Ontario. I have gathered quite a bit of data on the collateral lines and will continue digging.
