George Crandell of Cake Corners NY
I am related to the Crandell family via Charllot Crandell m. Baily Evans.Their daughter, Jane Evans, m. Chester Yates.
However, this query is not about them.On the other side of the family, my Greatgrandfather was chief of Police of Rochester NY (1905-1908).He left a diary of cases that he had been involved in over the years. One of those cases involved a George Crandell of Cakes Corners, Ontario County, New York being murdered by a Charles Eighmey in late June or early July of 1874.I do know that George was a rather well to do farmer, Charles was a rather not to well to do farm hand. I believe that Cakes Corner is in the area of Canandaigua NY. If anyone has any information about George or the murder, would you please notify me by E-mail.I am currently editing the diary for future use. Thanks in advance.
