The book of the descendendts of the Elder John Crandall shows that James Burton Crandall born about 1845 in Madelia (Medelia), Minn had a son, Samuel Morse Crandall born 16, Nov 1861 in Johnson Creek, Wisc. . Samuel Morse is my grandfather whom I never Met... It states that Samuel's mother was Marie ( ) Crandall. No maiden name is present. I assume that since James Burton Crandall was only 16 years old when Samuel was born, James must have been a bad boy that found some young thing called Maria to keep him warm on cold winter evenings. If anyone knows who Maria is and has a family name for her, I would greatly appreciate it. Maybe someone has records of a marraige if there was one. Many Thanks in advance. Alyn Crandall Duxbury
