Lorain county OH Crandall's
I have made a search of my Crandall roots and have had very satisfying progress, from almost no knowledge, to finding my gggrandparents, They are:
Henry H. Crandall, born 28 Dec 1816,(New York) His spouse was Jane L. Warner, born 6 jul 1822, (Shalersville, Ohio). They were married in March, 1838,. They lived from ~1850's to ~1890 in Lorain county Ohio. They later moved to MN, and are buried here. Their children were James A.,b 1841, Mary,b 1843, John, b 1846, William, b 1848, Alice, b 1850, Adeline, b 1856, Clara, and Arthur.Four of these children died in 1861, and James (the oldest) died in the Civil War, in 1865. If anyone knows about this Henry H. Crandall and his New York connections, and Jane L Warner (OH),I would be interested.
Also, I am interested in the story behind the Civil War monument in Kipton OH.Does any one know the History of the monument and about theinscribed names? Two of the surnames are Crandall, but none are Civil War veterans, according to the list on the National Park Service Soldiers and Sailors web site:http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/ Thanks for you help in the past.
