I hope we may have some common links; it does make things easier even if we can only eliminate certain possibilities.

I am back to about 1800 with my Cramptons who seem for the most part to come from Cranbrook itself. There do appear to be some links to the Relf familly which I have yet to fully understand.

My latest information (proved via census data) has Samuel Crampton born in about 1801/2 (he was 49 in April 1851), married to Hariett Lockyer on 5th Feb 1826. Both are said to have been born in Cranbrook but I cannot confirm this from parish records. The only Samuel Crampton I can find so far in Cranbrook is a baptism in 1798 (confirming an IGI entry).

I have collected some data on Frittenden and Benenden Cramptons in my endeavours to find my line and if it looks like they may be yours I can provide.
