Thank you for your post. You shed some light for me. I have been looking at George W. Cralle as a possible father of my Edward. The 1850 Illinois census has George W. Cralle and his family. He is 47 and his wife is 44. The first child listed is Mary and she is 19. Its very possible there is an older child, not listed perhaps due to marriage. I am streching it but I try to be open minded until proof closes the possiblity. Edward married Sarah Terry in Richland County Illinois in 1848. Edward has a daughter Maria whose middle name was Delilah. The 1870 and 1880 Illinois census has Edward in South Moline, Rock Island. With the information you have supplied, and all the dates and places mesh, there is enough coincidences for me to think that my Edward is from your Cralles. I am on my way to Illinois via the internet!! Thanks a million. I will share any and all I have with you.
