My Crain family starts with:

"Emigrant" John Crain "baptist Minister From Wales 1700 (or) Jasper Crain from England 1639?
then on to
Ambrose Crain of Granville born 1720, Amelia Co, Va died
1792 in Wilkes Co. Georgia, married an Elizabeth ?
then John Crain born 1759 in North Carolina died 1836 in Tenneesee. Jesse Bond born 1750 in Albemarle Co. Virginia, killed by Indians about 1782 in Kentucky married a Mildred
Crain born 1750. Jesse Walton Bond born October 30, 1774 North Carolina died February 26, 1840 Greenbush, Illinois
married a Susannah Crain born March 5, 1777 in North Carolina, died January 7, 1859 in Greenbush, Illinois
Polly Grimseley (1790-1828) married Major John C. Bond
Susannah Crain/Crane Bond born in Overton,Tennessee died in Greenbush, Illinois married Walter Johnson born 1805 and died December 13, 1876

Some of this information came from a cousin Robert E. Johnson who wrote the book Scattered Leaves that is in the Greenbush, Illinois Library, I have a copy of it here.
There's also a website
Charles Bond of Greenbush, Illinois which goes into detail about my ancestors.

It says we are cousins of George Walton and James Wilson that signed the Declaration of Independence. A person on the Walton genealogy website says we were not, that we were related to either the Old Virginia Waltons or the Pa. Waltons. So don't for for sure about that, but I am sure about James Wilson. Shadrack Bond the first governor of Illinois is also a distant cousin of mine.

My family on my Grandmothers side starts: LaRue,Carman,Buzan,Bond,Crain,Wilson,Johnson,Wickware,
Pickett. I also had been told that we were related to General George Pickett on my Grandfather's side.

Mary LaRue was the midwife of Nancy Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln's mother.

On my Grandfather's side, Electa Mary Taylor was a distant cousin to Daniel Webster.

It has been so interesting doing the research on my father's side of the family.

Randy are we Related???
