Thank you. I will see if I can find more from the information that you just sent. Appreciate your time and trouble. Audrey I've been following through on John Cox, Alexander's believed father and found the following: This probably verifies that Polly Ann was his 2nd wife. COX, John to BENNETT, Polly Ann, 05 May 1839 (Marriages: Barren Co., KY at http://www.barrencoky.com/marriage/MarrC.htm) 1850 United States Federal Census Barren County, Kentucky 2nd Division 8 August 1850 #708-725 John Cox, 45, male, miner, b KY Polly Cox, 29, female, b KY Alexander Cox, 15, male, farming, b KY Louisa Cox, 10, female, b KY Judith Cox, 8, female, b KY John Cox, 7, male, b KY James O. Cox, 3, male, b KY Joseph Cox, 1, male, b KY (Ancestry.com: Image 99 of 179) ******************** 1860 United States Federal Census Barren County, Kentucky District 1 P.O.: Glasgow 2 August 1860 #619-619 John Cox, 55, male, white, farmer, b KY Polly A. Cox, 34, female, white, b KY Judith K. Cox, 18, female, white, b KY John H. Cox, 16, male, white, b KY James O. Cox, 15, male, white, b KY Jos. B. Cox, 12, male, white, b KY Julia D. I did find Joseph B. and he names a son Alexander, so I am wondering if Alexander is a given name that runs in the Cox family back in time. However, I still feel like Alexander B. Cox was a child by a probably earlier marriage or relationship. Notify Administrator about this message?
