That Craighead County was named for Thomas Brown Craighead, the seventh child of Thomas and Elizabeth (Brown) Craighead. He was born in Haysboro, TN in 1798 and died in Arkansas in 1862. His siblings: John, William, Jane, David, Alexander and James. They descend from John Craighead (abt 1750) through Thomas, Robert, Thomas, Alexander, and then Thomas Brown Craighead. Robert was a Scot and his wife Agnes Hart, had four children and their eldest Thomas made way for the Americas in early 1700.
