Colonel, sir:
I have the honor to inform you that you are desecnded from a line of Craigheads notorious for their ability to elude full understanding.
You are, in short, from that branch, which originates and congregates, in Smith County, Tennessee, and which has been known for some long time to alternate, even amongst full siblings, between the name Craighead and the name Reece.
Robert Jeff was the sone of Jefferson Reece/Craighead. Jefferson was raised in the family of Williamson B. Reece, along with his two full brothers, John and Merlin Y.
All these boys took the name Craighead upon marriage.
Jefferson also had a son Newell, (brother to Robert Jeff). Newell remained, lived, and died in Carthage, (hometown of Algore,) and retained the name Reece for all his life.
Robert Jeff also had a SON Newell named after his brother. I beleive he ended up in Oklahoma, (Carter Co.)
